Now that’s some great cornbread.
Cornbread dipped in a Taco Cooks Sauce.
This dish has a pretty unique taco flavor.
I like to add some taco sauce to my tacos.
Now, you can make your own cornbread dipped tacos.
I made a few of these for myself and we all loved them.
Now I’m going to share with you a step-by-step process for making your own tacos with this recipe.
If you’re new to taco baking, check out my article on How To Make Tacos With Garlic & Cilantro Lime Sauce.
Before you begin, you’ll need to get the following ingredients: Cornmeal, Taco Sauce, & Cheddar Cheese (you can also use other taco sauce, but I didn’t find any I liked at the store) Directions: 1.
Cut your cornmeal into 2-inch cubes and add to a medium bowl.
Add Taco Sauce and add a pinch of salt and a few drops of cheddar cheese.
Stir until well combined.
Combine all of the ingredients except the cheese and mix well.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
If the batter is too wet, add more Taco Sauce.
Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cornbread is crispy on the outside and bubbly on the inside.
Recipe Notes *This recipe is adapted from a recipe from The Taco Kitchen by Katie Mays and Tim Stoppard.
If using Garlic Lime Sauce, you may substitute 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice for the 1/2 teaspoon.
You can also add some fresh lime zest to the mixture if you want a more fresh flavor.
*You can also make this recipe without the Garlic Glaze by using 1/4 cup fresh lime, 1/3 cup water, and 1 tablespoon Garlic Salt.
This is a great dish to serve with Mexican food or just as a snack!
You can substitute the lime juice with hot sauce, chili sauce, etc. *This post contains affiliate links, which means if you purchase a product from one of my links, I will earn a commission.
